Jan Francis is a dedicated servant of the Lord. She graduated early from John Jay High School in New York. She then attended Berkeley College in New York to obtain an Associate Degree in Business Administration-Accounting. She continued her education at Berkeley College to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in Accounting. She attended church regularly and she gave great reverence to God. Jan received a lot of prophetic words that she was called by God to be a teacher therefore in the year of 2004, she then relocated to Maryland from New York in pursuit of her calling by God which is to teach. She started teaching on a Provisional Educator Certificate in the year of 2004 as a Kindergarten Teacher in the Prince George’s County Public Schools System and then she transitioned to the Baltimore City Public Schools System where she blossomed as a teacher working with students who were underprivileged.

In the year of 2007, she earned a Standard Professional I Educator Certificate in the Certification Areas: Business Education 7-12, Elementary Education 1-6, and Middle School. In 2009 she earned an Advanced Professional Educator Certificate in Business Education 7-12, Elementary Education 1-6, and Middle School. In the year 2010 she earned a Master of Arts Degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Leadership in Education and an Administration I Certificate. Three years later, on June 4, 2013, an SUV drove into The Gwynn Oak Post Office striking her while she was inside the building and as a result, she suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury that has forever changed her life.
